CMFR Public Briefing

Sayang talaga at wala kayo dun. =p marami-rami rin kaming natutunan, na-starstruck lang naman ako kina Sheila Coronel, luchi cruz valdez, at shempre, kay ma'am yvonne chua, hehehe. :)

plus - ang sarap pa ng food. :)

sa lahat nga pala ng tumulong sa monitoring - salamat raw, sabi ng CMFR. :) sana sa mga susunod nilang projects, handa pa rin tayong tumulong kung kailangan nila ng volunteers. :)

anyway. since wala po tayong GA this week, post ko na lang yung dapat nating activities for the next few days:

1) sign-up week - tuloy ang sign-up week kahit na wala tayong booth. siguro nga, panahon na para i-scrutinize natin kung talagang effective pa ang traditional means natin of recruitment. try natin this sem kung mas mag-wo-work for us yung hatak ng word-of-mouth recruitment - which is highly informal, very personal at, yes, low cost.

in short - ibenta po natin nang TODO ang UJP sa ating mga friendships, at i-inform po natin sila na may ORIENTATION tayo ng APPS sa July 14 ng umaga. totoo na to, may venue na dapat to! :)

2) org t-shirts - nagkaroon ng konting problema, re: shirts dahil yung sample shirts eh mashadong malaki. in short, kung pang-guys eh okay na sana, pero nagrereklamo kaming mga girls *ahem, kasama po ako* dahil sana may small or extra-small sizes rin na available. anyway, lumalakad na po sina mau at joanne, hinihintay na natin yung mga samples from them.

- design - nawawala yung LOGBOOK! asan na yung mga design?! PANIC!

3) OICA - ano irish, kamusta? *grin* nakapag-itemize na ba tayo ng mga possible expenses?

malapit na ring matapos ang ating pagpapa-certify sa Admin! yay! :) salamat kay emman, at sa lahat ng nag-comply sa requirements, kaya hindi mashadong nangarag si emman ehehhehe...

salamat rin kina irish at stox for representing UJP in the recently concluded journalism forum sa Westin Philippine Plaza noong June 25. salamat rin kay rachel for representing UJP sa diliman convocation sa NISMED nung June 24. :)

nga pala, si twinkle may sinusuggest na weekly educational discussions - na *tayo* ang mag-su-suggest ng topics! :) hehe. ano bang gusto niyong pag-usapan? acads-wise? pilipinas-wise? masaya ba kayo na si GMA ang ipoproclaim? dapat ba walang pasok nun? (hehe) ano ang feature story? bakit may literary journ? sino si anna dizon? (ano?! journ major ka pero di mo sha kilala?! Mahiya ka nga! hehehe...)

anyway. so yun, sana suportahan natin ang EducCom, dahil in recent years eh mejo dormant yan. :)

IPCOM - dahil may nakita akong saglit na free time, gumawa ako ng isang sample ad ng ating orientation - for your approval, mr. laxamana. :) upload ko sa egroups. :)

MEMCOM - wag mag-panic! hehehe. :) let's just try our best na may magpunta sa orientation! :) hatak na! :) (jerry - inom ka stresstabs. hehe. promise, yan yung best friend ko last year nung MEMCOM rin ako...)

freshie assembly

shempre, gusto ko pong magpasalamat ng sobra sa mga nag-participate sa FRESHMEN ASSEMBLY kanina... as in.

salamat sa mga pumasok ng maaga at tumulong sa set-up, salamat sa mga pumunta nung hapon para pagandahin pa yung booth, salamat sa mga nagbantay, salamat sa mga umattend at nanood ng presentation, sa mga nag-cheer, sa mga naghatak ng mga prospective applicants, sa mga bumili ng diyaryo, sa mga nagpaxerox ng brochure (na sorry, ehehhe mejo chaka.) at flyers (na chaka din dahil di pantay hehehe), sa mga pasenshoso't pasenshosang naggupit, sa mga nakitawa, nakibangag, sa mga nagdonate ng food, sa mga tumulong sa council sa pag-aayos ng exhibit, sa pagsasaboy ng mga stars, sa mga nag-stay ng hapon para iligpit ang set-up natin, para ayusin ang mga gamit...

salamat sa mga taong nagpasaya nang lubusan sa araw na ito. :) hindi talaga magiging successful ang mga UJP activities kung wala ang dedication at commitment niyo. :)

maraming dahilan kaya love ko ang UJP, at unang-una dito ang kabibuhan ng mga tao! :)

Good day. I came across the UJP-UP webpage today. I'm glad someone has managed to come up with one. I'm Sheila Grace D. Bulaong, UP Diliman graduate of April 1999 and UJP-UP alumnus from Batch Dagundong [where I was also the Batch Head]. It was the batch before Batch Budyong, which I saw in the site as the oldest batch you have listed so far. May mga nauna pa na batch kesa sa batch ko: Batch Kornets, Tinig, Tambuli, Dagundong, and so on. But before that, may mga batches pa pero wala silang pangalan.
they're only labeled as Batch AY 19XX-A ["A" kung First Sem, "B" kung 2nd Sem].

At present, I'm a faculty here at UP Mindanao. I'm still in touch with most of the UJP pipol who came before me. Pero ang pinaka-maraming kilala from her batch is Jennifer Boral from Batch Kornets. She's a former Membership Committee Head. I'll let her know about UJP-UP website. She can provide you with more information than I can since she has been in UJP-UP longer than I had been. With that, maybe you can come up with a UJP-UP
directory to be posted sa webpage. Siyempre, tutulungan ka namin.

I'm glad to know that the UJP-UP spirit is very much alive even after the older ones [a.k.a. the veterans] have already left. Please love UJP-UP as much as we have loved her. Padayon!
